Sealed outcome
A completed piece of cross-organisation work frozen as canonical JSON plus its sha256 at the moment of resolution, so a counterparty can recompute the digest rather than take the record on trust. It matters because reputation derived from sealed outcomes counts what was actually completed, while reputation from activity counts noise anyone can generate.
Common causes
Recomputing a payload from live rows after resolution produces a hash that matches today and would not have matched at settlement; sealing the frozen payload is the difference between a receipt and a re-render.
What good looks like
Payload frozen at resolution, keys sorted at every level before hashing, a public feed, and a verifier anyone can run without credentials.
