Regulatory permission boundary
The line separating what a piece of licensed software provides — brand, interface, configuration — from any regulatory permission or licence its operation might require, which the software itself never carries. A licensee who needs that permission has to hold it themselves; no vendor’s software transfers it.
Common causes
A sales conversation that implies a licensed platform confers a permission the licensee has not independently obtained.
